VCE Curriculum
Our VCE students are moving towards becoming independent learners. The VCE provides all students with an appropriate pathway through post-compulsory schooling which leads them to further study at university, vocational training or employment.
While the study of English is compulsory, all other subjects are chosen by our students. They are supported to create a program of study that best suits their interests, abilities and future pathways by their Home Group teachers and career counsellors.
Students are able to create a combination of academic and vocational studies including in a VET program which contributes to the completion of a student’s VCE certificate.
VCE subjects offered at our College include:
Post School Destinations
Year 12 students from Thomastown Secondary College have always found successful post-school destinations.
At least 80 % of our students go on to further study at University or TAFE, 10 % take up Traineeships or Apprenticeships while 10 % find full time employment.
Our students receive excellent Pathways advice from Year 9 onwards and intensive advice and support through their Senior years. This support is reflected in our outstanding Destinations outcomes.
