All students in Year 10 study Industry and Enterprise Unit 1. This Year 11 subject focuses on planning future career pathways. Students examine possible future careers, courses that lead to that career and plan their VCE subject selections. They also learn job search skills and about important topics such as the nature of work, workplace safety and their rights and responsibilities at work.

A two week work placement is a requirement for successfully completing this course.

Selected students have the opportunity to study an additional VCE subject while in Year 10. The subject studied is negotiated with the student’s Home Group teacher and will vary according to the individual strengths and interests of the student.

Studying a VCE subject while in Year 10 provides more than an accelerated pathway or an additional subject. It can provide increased breadth of knowledge as well as an early insight into “what it takes” to be a successful student at the VCE level.
